January 17 at Sisir Mancha; 6 pm: Tagore Research Institute will felicitate Suchitra Mitra on her 80th birthday to be followed by Rabindrasangeet recitals by Pramita Mallick, Asish Bhattacharya, Sugata Sen, Pushpita Basu Roy and Roma Basu. January 17 at Kala Mandir; 9 pm (night-long): Sabrang Sangeet Sammelan features Shiv Kumar Sharma and Rahul Sharma (santoor duet) with Ustad Zakir Hussain on the tabla; Prabhati Mukherjee (vocal), Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan (vocal) and Shubhra Guha (vocal), Narendranath Dhar and Partha Sarathi (sarod duet) with Anindo Chatterjee (tabla).

Ludiana Krishnamurthy will render folk songs from MGR films.

LECTURE

January 16 at Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Jadavpur University campus; 3.30 pm: Indian Cryogenics Council and Dr Subhas Mukherjee Memorial Reproductive Biology Research Centre present the Dr Subhas Mukherjee Memorial Oration 2004 to be delivered by Prof. N.K.
