Nandan Bal named Davis Cup coach

New Delhi: Nandan Bal has been appointed coach of the Indian Davis Cup team. Announcing this here on Tuesday, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) said via a press release that Bal would support playing captain Leander Paes.

[That Bal was likely to get the job was indicated by The Telegraph in November].

Himself a former Davis Cupper, Bal had served as Indian coach a few times before — though he was never solely in charge. (PTI)
