Islamabad rejected Vajpayee’s suggestion for a celebration by India, Pakistan and Bangladesh of the 150th anniversary of the 1857 First War of Independence.

Reacting to the suggestion made by Vajpayee at the opening of the Saarc summit yesterday, Pakistan foreign office spokesman Masood Khan said: “I think the answer is no.”
