Hyderabad, Jan. 2: The Election Commission has despatched a second team of observers to set right the anomalies in the electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh, reports our special correspondent.
The team is expected to land on Monday with the aim of eliminating the names of 34 lakh bogus voters from the list, disposing 40 lakh applications of new voters and finalising the draft electoral rolls before Janauary 20.
The eight-member team that toured the state last month found that not even 65 per cent of the new applicants were eligible. Nalgonda district recorded the maximum (78 per cent) number of bogus applications.
The Opposition today met state
