Jammu, Dec. 27: The border has remained “absolutely quiet” since the ceasefire was announced on November 26, a spokesman of the Jammu and Kashmir government said.
Besides, militancy-related incidents have shown a 32 per cent decline compared to the corresponding month last year, he said.
“Against 342 incidents in this period last year, only 221 incidents were reported after Id. Compared to the preceding one month of this year, the reduction in violence is estimated at 23 per cent,” the spokesman said.
Civilian deaths have come down by 40 per cent compared to the corresponding month last year and 38 per cent compared to the month before the ceasefire, he added.
