Calcutta, Dec. 21: The Ramakrishna Mission spent Rs 7.8 crore and reached out to four lakh people in 1,745 villages with relief and rehabilitation programmes across the country in 2002-’03.
The governing body of the mission today placed its report at its annual general meeting at Belur Math.
A spokesman for the mission said the rehabilitation programme started in Gujarat after the quake in 2001 was completed this March. The project comprised construction of 390 houses, 81 school buildings and five community halls, providing building materials to 190 families and digging ponds and water reservoirs.
Delhi flights cancelled
Three Delhi-bound flights were cancelled this evening because of dense fog and poor visibility in the capital. Dum Dum airport officials said the Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Air Sahara planes did not take off. The airlines authorities are likely to arrange special flights tomorrow.
