For example, a Calcutta based Reliance Info subscriber is visiting Chennai. He subscribes to the Budget 149 tariff plan. He will have to pay Rs 1.99 per minute for every incoming call from anywhere in India as opposed to Rs 6.44 per minute charged by most mobile service providers.

PTI adds: Flag Telecom has postponed its special shareholder meeting to vote on the amalgamation of the company with Reliance Gateway Net Pvt Ltd to January 12, “to provide adequate time to complete procedures”.

“We believe that rescheduling from December 22, 2003 will enable us to assure the consummation of the amalgamation and is in the best of interests of our shareholders,” Flag Telecom chief Patrick Gallagher said.
