SAI Calcutta exit tourney

New Delhi: SAI Calcutta were knocked out of the Subroto Mukerjee Cup football tournament, losing to Kabiraj Tilla High School, Baderghat, Tripura 1-4 in the quarter finals on Tuesday. The Tripura school, with eight tribals in their XI, are the best team on view and are tipped by many to annex the title.

Town High School, Sundergarh, Orissa entered the semi-finals ousting fancied Good Shepherd High School, Meghalaya 1-0. The match-winner was scorer was Khiradhar Say, when he converted a spot-kick in the 49th minute. The Sundergarh school, also have nine tribal players in their XI.

Town High School, now play Oxford Higher Secondary School, Mizoram in the semis. In the other semi-final, Kabiraj Tilla H.S. Tripura take on Govt. Senior Secondary School, Car Nicobar.
