Mishap deaths

Behrampore, Dec. 6: Two persons were killed and four seriously injured in separate road accidents in Murshidabad today.

Mokhtar Sheikh, 35, died on the spot when a van collided with his bullock cart at Chhaighari village under Daulatabad police station. The van driver and three persons in the vehicle were injured.

In the Nabagram police station area, a lorry bound for Behrampore from north Bengal hit a tree near Gogram village. The driver, Arjun Munda (30), died on the spot. In a third incident, a bus collided with a lorry near Koladanga. Some passengers were injured.

Police superintendent Gyanwant Singh said some roads would have to be closed to traffic if such dense fog continues, implying that the fog had been a factor behind the accidents.
