Mumbai: Second seed Anand Pawar of Maharashtra and unseeded Krishna Dekaraja of Assam emerged champions in the boys and girls singles final, respectively, in the 28th junior national badminton championship which concluded at Thane on Sunday.

Pawar took just 25 minutes to outplay the eighth seeded Nishad Dravid 15-5, 15-7 while Krishna Dekaraja rallied magnificiently after dropping the first game 3-11 to shock top seed and junior international Saina Nehwal of Andhra Pradesh 3-11, 13-12, 11-5 in 55 minutes.
