Jishnu in semis

Mumbai, Nov. 29 (PTI): Eighth seed Nishad Dravid and the unseeded Jishnu Sanyal of Bengal caused surprise wins to reach the semi-finals of the national junior badminton meet on Saturday.

Dravid, playing with confidence and determination, ousted top seed Rohan Castelino of Karnataka 15-12, 17-15 in a pulsating quarter final clash, while Sanyal accounted for No. 6 Anshuman Hazarika of Assam 15-11, 15-8.

Assamís Banhiman Bora also scripted a surprise 15-8, 15-10 win, against Sagar Chopra of Maharashtra to reach the semi-finals.

Among girls, top seed Saina Nehwal of Andhra Pradesh and No. 2 Aparna Balan of Kerala sailed into the last-four stage with easy wins.
