The Telgi scam claimed one more senior police officer today when assistant commissioner Ramakant Padaval was served a suspension notice.

Padaval, a senior officer with the crime branch, has been charged with “negligence during investigations and for shielding Telgi”.

The police also confiscated fake stamps worth Rs 76 lakh, fuelling fears that a large quantity of the bogus papers were still circulating freely. One person from Nashik has been arrested.
