New Delhi, Nov. 29: The European Union today said there was a need to kickstart the stalled world trade talks once again while maintaining that the multilateral trading system had crafted the best set of trade rules.

“The stalled talks at Cancun have stopped us from moving forward, just as it looked like we were getting into gear. We all need to lend a hand to push-start the Doha process again,” European Union president Romano Prodi said at India-EU business summit here. Stating that the summit has marked a transition to a more mature strategic relationship, he said, “It was joining of forces to confront common global challenges”.
