Pay at ease with Tata Infotech’s Sevak

Calcutta, Nov. 26: Tired of waiting in queues to pay your electricity bills, telephone bills and tax' Can’t trust the electronic payment systems'

Here’s something that will be an answer to all your woes.

Sevak — the intelligent payment collection box from Tata Infotech — not only accepts your payments by cheque, demand draft, credit cards and cash but also provides you with an instant receipt without the risk of depositing the original documents.

The product is the latest in the line of intelligent hardware products developed by Tata Infotech.

“Sevak is more sophisticated than an automated teller machine (ATM) as it can read bar codes, tally the payment due and payment accepted and also count the amount paid in cash,” says a company official. “Moreover, it is also capable of identifying fake notes.”

Sevak gives customers proof of payment receipts, answers queries related to late payments and automates bill payment in a manner similar to the ATM.

The product allows for multiple payments on a single bill. It is also possible to make payments partly by cheque and partly in cash.

The flip point is that the machines cost their worth and comes with a price tag between Rs 4.5 to Rs 5 lakh.
