Bhandari keeps visitors in check

Ahmedabad: A four-wicket haul by Amit Bhandari restricted Sri Lanka A to 243 for eight on Day I of their three-day match against India A on Sunday.

Bhandari got an early breakthrough, dismissing Prasanna Jayawardene for a duck and also claimed R. Herath for 51.

The visitors benefited from some middle-order stands. T. Kandamae made a quick 44, A. Polonowitha a steady 33, while O. Wijesiriwardane was unbeaten on 49. For India A, Siddharth Trivedi took two wickets and Munaf Patel one. (PTI)
