Novel step in pharma pricing

New Delhi, Nov. 22: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has for the first time fixed the prices of 27 formulation packs, including ‘Livadex’ injection and ‘Lederplex T Liquid’. The authority also revised downwards the price of ‘Pentoxifylline CR/SR’ tablet by 12.92 per cent to Rs 23.60 per pack from Rs 27.10 per pack in view of the downward revision in the price of scheduled bulk drugs.

Forex reserves

Mumbai, Nov. 22: There was further accretion of $452 million during the week ended November 14 taking the country’s foreign exchange reserves to record high of $93,663 million. Fresh inflows swelled the reserves from $93,211 million to $93,663 million till November 14. The foreign currency assets rose to $89,740 million, up by $453 million in the period under review, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s weekly statistical supplement.

TCS deal

New Delhi, Nov. 22: Nasscom today expressed dismay at a US state agency’s cancellation of a $15.2 million contract with Tata Consultancy Services, saying the move inhibited free trade in the sector.
