Bryan twins in final

Houston, Nov. 15 (AFP): Top-ranked American twins Bob and Mike Bryan advanced to the doubles final of the ATP Masters Cup on Friday, beating Argentina’s Gaston Etlis and Martin Rodriguez 6-2, 6-4.

The Bryans, the first brothers to own the year-end world No. 1 doubles ranking, will face France’s Fabrice Santoro and Michael Llodra in Saturday’s best-of-five final.

The US duo defeated the Frenchmen in round-robin play 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, and own a 2-1 edge in their career rivalry as a result.

The Bryans beat Santoro and Llodra last year at Indian Wells but the French duo avenged the defeat in April with a Monte Carlo quarter-final triumph. Santoro and Llodra won their first Grand Slam crown and only ATP title in January at the Australian Open.

The Bryans claimed their lone Slam title this year at the French Open.
