Indian guilty of visa scam

Washington, Nov. 15 (AFP): A man of Indian origin has pleaded guilty to selling visas at the US embassy in Sri Lanka.

The US justice department said yesterday that Ramesh Kumar Jaisingh, 58, of Fairfax, Virginia, near Washington, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to defraud the US, bribe state department officials and visa fraud.

Jaisingh became the third defendent to plead guilty along with nine others charged in the case.
