TB suicide

Calcutta, Nov. 12: A 40-year-old tuberculosis patient this evening succumbed to injuries he had suffered after he allegedly jumped from the first-floor balcony of Calcutta Medical College and Hospital yesterday, reports our correspondent.

Angry relatives of Sarwan Jaiswal demonstrated in front of the hospital this evening in protest against negligence on the part of the authorities. They left the hospital premises when local police intervened.

According to police, last evening hospital staff noticed an injured Sarwan lying on the ground after having reportedly jumped off the first floor and immediately admitted him. Sarwan had been undergoing treatment for the past couple of weeks.
