Woodbridge’s record bid

Houston: Australia’s Todd Woodbridge continued his bid for an ATP-record 79th career doubles title at the ATP Masters Cup when he and Sweden’s Jonas Bjorkman beat Czechs Martin Damm and Cyril Suk.

Woodbridge and Bjorkman beat the seventh seeds 6-3, 6-3 to level their round-robin record to 1-1 in red group play.

Top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan beat the French duo of Michel Llorda and Fabrice Santoro 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in the other red group match.

Woodbridge and Dutch star Tom Okker each have 78 career doubles crowns.

Canada’s Daniel Nestor and Mark Knowles beat Aussies Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley 64, 67 (5/7), 76 (8/6).
