HSBC gets new marketing head

Mumbai, Nov. 10: HSBC has appointed Sangeeta Pendurkar as the senior manager of marketing in India. Her appointment will take effect from November 24.

As head of marketing, Sangeeta will be responsible for brand building, market research, advertising, some product development and customer communication.

Sangeeta will report to Niall Booker, CEO of HSBC India.

Sangeeta, a Pune University student of the 1988 batch, had marketing stints with Hindustan Ciba Giegy (now Novartis) and Hindustan Lever Limited.

She helped rejuvenate Hindustan Lever’s Fair and Lovely brand in the last few years.

In a statement, Niall Booker said, “We are delighted to be able to add someone of Sangeeta’s stature to the team. Her recruitment continues our journey of building the HSBC brand, particularly in the retail market. In accordance with our group strategy, the appointment will help make HSBC a more marketing led organisation.”
