Mamta to lead, Jhulan in squad

New Delhi: Mamta Maben will lead the Indian women against New Zealand in the forthcoming one-off ‘Test’ and five-match one-day International series beginning on November 27.

According to Women’s Cricket Association of India (WCAI) secretary Shubhangi Kulkarni, a 15-member squad was picked after watching the players’ performance in the recent Rani Jhansi tournament in Mumbai. Jhulan Goswami is the lone representative from Bengal.

THE SQUAD — Mamta Maben (captain), Mithali Raj, Anju Jain (wicketkeeper), Jaya Sharma, Hemlata Kala, Neetu David, Anjum Chopra, Deepa Kulkarni, Jhulan Goswami, Amita Sharma, Sunetra Paranjpe, Karuna Jain, Nooshin al Kadeer, Diana David, Babusha Singh.Reserves: Beas Sarkar, Arundhati Kirkire, Priti Dimri, Reema Malhotra, Mamta Kanojia.
