Indian team reaches Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Indian cricket team arrived here Monday, ahead of their one-day match against New Zealand to be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Thursday.

The team drove to the Mayfair Lagoon Hotel where they would be staying till Friday.

New Zealand are expected to arrive here on Wednesday and will be putting up at the same hotel. The teams will have to drive to Cuttack, about 25 km from here, for match practice.

A large crowd of cricket enthusiasts were present at the airport to welcome the cricketers.

Meanwhile, there was a big rush for tickets, the sale of which started today in Cuttack for the first day-night match to be held in the city.

Many had arrived near the stadium to buy tickets before dawn and police had to resort to a mild lathicharge to restore order. A large number of young boys and girls were seen waiting in the queue braving a persistent drizzle.
