After Daler, itís Sukha

Patiala, Nov. 3 (PTI): After Bhangra star Daler Mehndi, another Punjabi singer has found himself in the net for alleged human trafficking.

Sukhwinder Mann alias Sukha Delhi was arrested from here while receiving the final instalment of Rs 8 lakh from Balbir Singh, a resident of Noorkhedian, a senior police officer said from Chandigarh.

Balbir had lodged a complaint against Mann with the police, which recently registered a case of human trafficking against Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh Shera.

According to the police, Mann had promised to take Balbir abroad after finalising a marriage alliance for him with a girl in the US.

Instead of taking people as part of musical troupes, the singer allegedly used to settle alliances of boys interested in going abroad for Rs 16 lakh, the police officer said.

A case of fraud and cheating has been registered against the singer.

Further investigations are on.

Mann used to arrange meetings of the aspirants with local women, introducing them as relatives of the girls abroad, the police said.
