Calcutta: With the tri-series final on November 18 in mind, the CAB has acquired a new pitch cover. CAB sources informed that the rubber-based cover is much lighter than the old one, which had to be replaced. “It costs about Rs. 1.5 lakh,” the source indicated. The authorities are also planning to acquire a canopy cover.

Chandan fires

Offspinner Chandan Pal took five for 41 in the first innings and four for five in the second as the Tripura U-15 team were 69 for six after being forced to follow-on against their Bengal counterparts in the Polly Umrigar Trophy match in Agartala on Thursday.

According to information received here, Tripura were all out for 104 in the first innings, after Bengal declared at overnight 460 for six.
