A show by future chic designers

Talented youngsters, with that special knack for creativity, can now look beyond traditional art schools and run-of-the-mill curriculum. Venturing into unconventional fields is no more considered a taboo. In fact, recent trends show that they are, in fact, more lucrative career options with a bright future for the really talented ones. Thanks to institutes like the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) where a thorough training by a group of qualified faculty with a focused aim and exposure to world fashion has created an illustrious alumni.Tantu 03, to be held today, features a wide array of textile products from apparels to home furnishings, designed and developed by the 2001-2003 graduating batch of Textile Design and Development students of NIFT, Calcutta. The display is the outcome of extensive research and training as per the current trend and practices of the textile industry, dealing with both the domestic as well as the export market. The products will also incorporate current international forecasts, trends and styles, and will certainly be one of the premier shows of the eastern zone.
