Blast derails Shalimar

Jammu, Oct. 26 (PTI): The engine and five bogies of the Delhi-bound Shalimar Express derailed about 50 km from here as militants set off explosives on the track.

Senior railway officials said there was no casualty. “All passengers are safe. No one is injured,” said the chief public relations officer of Northern Railway, Devendra Sandhu.

Jammu station superintendent Mulkraj Sharma said the blast occurred at a place between Sambha and Gagwal stations around 10.06 pm, almost an hour after the train left Jammu Tawi station.
