Flights up in new schedule

Indian Airlines and Alliance Air on Friday announced their winter schedule for 2003. The new timings take effect from Sunday.

The frequency/capacity of flights in the new schedule have been increased on the Calcutta-Bhubaneswar, Calcutta-Bagdogra, Calcutta-Imphal and Bhubaneswar-Delhi sectors.

Deploying Airbus-320 aircraft has raised the seating capacity on the Calcutta-Dibrugarh sector.

The morning Mumbai flight, IC 675, has been extended up to Guwahati for passengers bound for northeastern states. The timings and days of operations of a number of flights have been changed.

Highlights of the schedule are:

•IC 675 will operate daily on the Mumbai/Calcutta/Guwahati sector, leaving Mumbai at 6 am, reaching Calcutta at 8.30 am, leaving Calcutta for Guwahati at 9.50 am and reaching Guwahati at 10.50 am.

•IC 230 will operate daily on the Guwahati-Calcutta sector, leaving Guwahati at 11.40 am and reaching Calcutta at 12.50 pm.

•CD 7542/7541 will now operate on the Calcutta-Bhubaneswar-Vizag-Chennai sector, leaving Calcutta at 9.35 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

•CD 7278/7277, operating on the Calcutta-Bhubaneswar-Hyderabad and return sectors, will now operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, leaving Calcutta at 6.45 pm.

•CD 7272/7271, operating on the Calcutta-Nagpur-Hyderabad and return sectors, will now operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaving Calcutta at 6 pm.

•IC 721/722, operating on the Calcutta-Bagdogra-Calcutta sector, will operate with an Airbus-320 on Thursdays and Saturdays and as CD 7221/7222 with a Boeing-737 aircraft on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, leaving Calcutta at 9.40 am.
