Chennai, Oct. 23 (PTI): Madras High Court today upheld two state government orders curtailing pension and retirement benefits of government employees.
A division bench of Justices P.K. Mishra and F.M. Ebrahim Kalifullah upheld the order that increased from 30 to 33 years the minimum period of service required to be eligible for full pensionary benefits. It also upheld the fixing of the maximum limit of commutation of a portion of the pension at 33.33 per cent, against the existing 40 per cent.
