New Delhi, Oct. 13: All those who are scared of computers and felt foolish about admitting it, here is an opportunity to exorcise those fears.
The Computer Society of India and two computer training institutes — Aptech Computer Education and SSI Education — have launched the cheapest course to turn out an army of neo computer literates.
The course, priced at Rs 499 for 12 hours of training, aims to create 2.5 lakh IT literates in India within a year.
Currently, NIIT offers Swift Jyoti, an IT beginners’ course, at Rs 749 for 18 hours.
Branded as India Akshar Mission, the three organisations will offer basic knowledge about the operations of a computer and other aspects like the use of internet. The course is primarily targeted at the population at grassroots level with special local language software.
It will also target working executives, government employees, self-employed professionals, traders, housewives, farmers and students.
