Dharwad, Oct. 11 (PTI): India’s Prakash Amritraj crashed out of the singles contest, but combined well with South African Rik de Voest to reach the doubles finals at the ATP Challenger tournament here on Saturday.
Amritraj lost 3-6, 1-6 to Yue-Tzuoo Wang of Chinese Taipei. In the doubles semi-finals, Amritraj and De Voest cruised past Udomchoke and Toshihide Matsui of Japan 6-3, 6-2.
Rupesh Roy and Sumit Prakash Gupta clinched the doubles title while G. K. Shweta lost in the girls’ final of the ITF grade 5 junior meet in Islamabad.
Rupesh and Sumit defeated Vivek Shokeen and his Sri Lankan partner Nishindaran Sivendaran 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. Thai Punjaporn Ditthim beat Shweta 6-4, 6-2.
