Nalco net up 58% at Rs 187 cr

New Delhi, Oct. 10 (PTI): Leading aluminium producer National Aluminium Company (Nalco) today posted a 58 per cent increase in its net profit for the July-September quarter at Rs 187.18 crore.

Sales turnover, during the quarter ended September 30, rose to Rs 864.63 crore as against Rs 642.95 crore during the corresponding period last year.

For the six-month period ended September 30, the company’s net profit touched Rs 305.51 crore compared with Rs 217.70 crore during the year-ago period, registering an increase of 42 per cent.

For the six-month period, the sales turnover rose to Rs 1529.51 crore.

Hind Zinc net trebles

Hindustan Zinc Ltd has more than trebled its net profit at Rs 94.64 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 31.1 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

Total income has also increased to Rs 453.49 crore as against Rs 323.4 crore in the year-ago period.
