Gangtok, Oct. 10: Five tourists from Bengal, including a child, died on their way to Siliguri when the vehicle in which they were travelling fell into the Rangeet river this afternoon, reports our correspondent.

Two people survived the crash and two children were missing till late evening.

The accident took place around 3.30 pm at Reshi — about 40 km from Geyzing — between Legship and Jorethang, according to the subdivisional police officer of Geyzing, K.K. Gurung.

Ten passengers were travelling in the vehicle from Pelling in west Sikkim to Siliguri.
