New York, Oct. 9 (PTI): Pakistani national Uzair Pracha has been formally indicted by US federal prosecutors on charges of terrorism, providing material support to the al Qaida network and using false documents to carry out terror acts.

Pracha, who is legally a permanent resident of the US, was charged in a five-count indictment six months after he was arrested in New York city for seeking to assist an al Qaida associate trying to enter the country.

The indictment yesterday expands the charges against him.
