New Delhi: Indian pairs entered the doubles semi-finals in the first leg of the ITF international junior (under-18) tennis meet in Islamabad.

Shweta Kakhandaki and Poojashree Venkatesh beat the Sri Lankan pair of Amita Arudpragasam and Thiyumi Abeysinghe 6-0, 6-1 in the girls’ quarter finals.

In the boys’ section, Sumit Gupta and Vivek Shokeen beat the Thai-Sri Lankan pair of Peerakit Siributwong and Nishendiran Sivendran 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, according to information received here on Thursday.

Among the boys, Pakistan’s Shahzad Khan and Wasif Cheema beat Lalit Mann and Sandeep Kumar 6-3, 6-2. (PTI)
