Defeat puts India out

New Delhi: India were knocked out of the Asian Confederation basketball championships after losing to Lebanon 82-117 in a group 1 quarter final league match in Harbin, China, on Sunday.

India finished at the bottom of their group after having lost to China and Japan in the previous quarter final league matches, according to information received here.

India will now play for the 5-8 positions with Japan from their own group and Kazakhstan and Iran from group 2.

Defending champions China, who defeated Japan, meet Qatar who beat Iran, in the semi-final.

In the other semi-final, South Korea, who ousted the Kazakhstan 99-88, take on Lebanon.
