Danielle Jones in final

Danielle Jones moved into the girls’ under-14 final of the Aarbur hardcourt tennis championships at South Club on Friday. Jones thrashed Richa Valecha 6-0, 6-1. Meanwhile, the pairings of Vinod Kumar Sewa and Saurav Sukul and Abhishek Jagnani and Dhruv Kumar made the men’s doubles final.

Runa, Shreya

Runa Roy and Shreya Ghosh moved into the juniors’ final of the Kacchu Mukherjee Memorial table tennis tournament on Friday. While Runa beat Anindita Roy 11-5, 11-6, 11-4, 11-4, Shreya downed Jayita Pushilal 8-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9, 12-10.

SEMI-FINALS: Nursery girls — Kirtika Sinha Roy bt Chaitali Pramanik 11-5, 11-7; Madhurima Banerjee bt Anushree Hazra 11-5, 11-9.

Cadet girls — Priya Saha bt Chamelia Sil 11-5, 11-4, 11-4; Ankita Das bt Abhishikta Rudra 12-10, 6-11, 11-9, 11-3.

Victory for Railway FC

Railway FC beat Wari 1-0 in the Super Division relegation leg match, S. Dutta scoring the winner. In another match, Nadugopal Ghosh’s brace helped West Bengal Police hold Bhratri Sangha 2-2. Debu Pradhan and Ohidul Islam scored for Bhratri.

In the third match, Eastern Railway held Calcutta Port Trust goalless.
