Affleck, J.Lo in court, but for a gun

Atlanta, Sept. 23 (Reuters): Will-they or won’t-they couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez appeared in a Georgia courthouse together but the only licence they asked about was for a gun, a court official said today.

The Hollywood couple — whose wedding was called off at the last minute this month — visited the courthouse yesterday to discuss security around their seaside Georgia home, said Barry Wilkes, court clerk for Liberty county in Hinesville, near the coastal city of Savannah.

“They were also asking where Affleck could get a pistol toter’s permit,” Wilkes said, adding the couple were directed to the probate judge’s office. Since that is the same office that issues marriage licences, rumours of nuptials flared.

But, Wilkes said, they did not get a marriage licence.

Affleck, who would have to undergo standard checks to get the gun licence, and Lopez spent about 90 minutes in the courthouse.
