Strides, Aspen join hands

Mumbai, Sept. 19: Strides Arcolab, a Bangalore-based pharmaceutical company, has concluded an exclusive co-operation agreement with AspenPharmacare, the largest generics manufacturer in Africa.

The agreement includes exchanging technical and product expertise between the two companies and co-developing and sharing of quality systems.

The two companiesí teams have started working together, with the initial focus areas being exchange of technology, business strategies, research and supplies, group chief executive of Aspen Stephen Saad said.

Strides, which is listed on the National Stock Exchange, has a presence in more than 50 countries. It also has manufacturing units in Brazil, Mexico and the US.

The company supplies products to overseas markets in Latin America, south-east Asia, Africa, Australia and Russia.

Aspen is a major supplier to the South African market and has wholly owned subsidiaries in UK and Australia.
