Film fest

New Delhi, Sept. 18: The Centre today lifted a censorship rule it had imposed on documentaries for the country’s premier short-film festival after filmmakers threatened to boycott the event and hold parallel screenings.

“There will be no censorship for the Indian films in MIFF,” the Union information and broadcasting minister said. “Indian documentary filmmakers would not be disadvantaged in comparison to the foreign entries for the competition section.”
