CM in talks with Pepsi

Calcutta, Sept. 12: Representatives of Fritolay India, a sister unit of PepsiCo, met chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today to discuss a snack food processing unit in Howrah.

Bhattacharjee said the project is almost final and an abandoned airstrip at Sankrail, about 50 km from here, has been identified for the unit. Fritolay managing director Manu Anand and PepsiCo chairman Rajiv Bakshi were there to talk about the Rs 90-crore project at Writers’.

School bus suicide

A school bus driver committed suicide inside the vehicle in Uttarpara, Hooghly, about 15 km from here. Bhola Das, 31, was found hanging from the roof of the bus parked near the government high school this morning.
