Dry flowers from Doon Express ‘bomb bag’

Burdwan, Sept. 11: The station authorities here received an alert from Howrah around 10.30 last night. It said there was a bomb in the Doon Express about to enter platform.

Police swung into action. Platforms were evacuated and passengers were asked to vacate the express as it screeched to halt. Coaches combed and luggage checked, a policeman noticed a cloth bag on the roof of the S-4 coach. He raised an alarm and the bag was brought down. It was stuffed with dry flowers and sticks. The police saw the hand of a prankster and the train left past midnight.
