Book launch

Aparna Sen in conversation with author Sangeeta Dutta at the launch of World Director: Shyam Benegal at British Council, 7 pm. Rituparna Sengupta will read out excerpts from the book.

Song and dance

Virasat 2003, Spicmacay’s annual fest, presents Priti Patel at Mahadevi Birla Girls’ High School from 12.30 pm. The Baba Alauddin Sangeet Samaroh-Young Talent Conference at MusicWorld from 4 pm. Cultural Choir of Howrah presents Indian Sangeet in Several Moods and Tunes at Uttam Mancha, 6 pm. A workshop on the gotipua folk dance of Orissa at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, 10 am to 5 pm.

Art and craft

Rituparna Sengupta will inaugurate Art in Life, an exhibition of traditional Indian handicrafts, and clothes and accessories by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, at CIMA Gallery at 11 am. Merchant of Dreams, paintings on display at Chitrakoot Art Gallery, from 3 pm to 8 pm.
