Rakhi Sangha in last four

Rakhi Sangha routed Howrah 27-4 to enter the girls’ semi-finals of the state youth basketball championships. Birbhum girls also made the last four. In the boys’ event, Burdwan booked their berth in the penultimate round.

Lodhgar degree

Bengal left-arm spinner Murtaza Lodhgar has passed the Level III coaching course conducted by the England and Wales Cricket Board recently. Other Indians to have passed this course include Mohinder Amarnath, Ashok Malhotra, W.V. Raman, Balwinder Singh Sandhu and Sandeep Patil.

Junior soccer

Eight teams will take part in the Krishanu Dey Memorial Cup sub-junior soccer meet, organised by Krishanu Dey Fan Club, at Jadavpur Nabajatri Maidan from Sunday to September 21.

Joydeep move

Mohun Bagan signed veteran Joydeep Mukherjee from Tapan Memorial in the inter-club cricket transfers on Saturday.
