Flood threat

Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: Orissa seems to be bracing for more trouble with officials warning that fresh floods are likely to hit the coastal districts following heavy rain in Bolangir and Kalahandi in last 24 hours, reports our correspondent.

Several coastal districts, which are already reeling under the effect of the floods, are likely to be hit as they are on the banks of the Mahanadi.

The water level in most of the rivers in Orissa is now falling. However, fears of fresh floods follow reports of heavy rainfall in Bolangir and Kalahandi districts.

During the last 24 hours, Bolangir received over 300 mm of rain while Madanpur Rampur block in Kalahandi district reported 480 mm.
