Till September 6 at Galerie 88; 3 pm - 7 pm: The grand old man of Indian art, “Chhabidas” (M.F. Husain) turns 88. To celebrate his birthday, Galeries 88 hosts “Four Suites of paintings comprising 88 Husains in oils 003.” Till September 5 at Indian Museum, Asutosh Birth Centenary Hall; 12 noon - 8 pm: Avantika’s (a group of contemporary artists) second regional art exhibition. Till September 10 at Chitrakoot Art Gallery; 3 pm - 8 pm: An exhibition of paintings titled Sapno Ka Saudagar (The Merchants of Dreams) featuring artistic analysis of the subconscious mind through paintings. Till September 3 at Gorky Sadan & Max Mueller Bhavan: Max Mueller Bhavan Goethe-Institut, Calcutta, hosts a three-day festival of ‘Early German Silent Films’ featuring a retrospective of Richard Oswald’s works. The line-up: (Today at 6 pm):Introductory lecture by Dr Jurgen Kasten followed by the screening of Different from the Others and Dida Ibsens Story; (Sept. 3 at Max Mueller Bhavan; 6.30 pm): Screening of Tales of the Uncanny with live music by renowned Jazz musician Michael Riessler.
