Paris, Aug. 30 (AFP): Kelli White of the US has tested positive for a stimulant that will be banned at next year’s Athens Olympics, the IAAF’s top medical official Professor Arne Ljungqvist announced on Saturday.
He said White, who won the 100m and 200m world titles here, had tested positive for modafinil, which stimulates the nervous system and combats tiredness. He said that if modafinil falls into the category of ephedrine, White will lose both her titles and be given a warning. If it is an amphetamine, she will lose the titles and be suspended for two years.
She was left out of the US 4X100m relay team.
