New Delhi, Aug. 29: The Election Commission today ordered poll-bound Delhi to suspend three officials for not issuing voters photo-identity cards. An official was punished for allowing subordinates to demand bribes to issue the cards, reports our special correspondent.
The axe fell on the food and supply officer of circle No. 27 and the superintendent of the Government Boys’ Senior School at Hastsal. They were officiating as the assistant electoral registration officers of the Hastsal Assembly constituency in Outer Delhi. The commission also recommended that the assistant electoral registration officer of the East Vinod Nagar centre be suspended for not acting against electoral officers found demanding bribes to issue identity cards.
