Aizawl: Defending champions Bengal lost to Meghalaya 1-2 while hosts Mizoram edged out Manipur in the semi-finals of the 26th under-16 national football championship on Thursday.

Bengal’s Ashim Das struckfirst in the 17th minute but Meghalaya’s Barlano Syngkon squared things up in the 47th through a penalty. Kitbor Kharkongor scored the winner in the 79th minute .

Bengal got a scare when Somnath Das got injured. After being taken to the Civil Hospital here, doctors described his condition as stable. (PTI)
