Asean meet still on

New Delhi, Aug. 27: In a move to indicate that it is not on the defensive after Monday’s twin blasts in Mumbai, India today made it clear that the last leg of the three-day Indian-Asean Business Summit to be held early next month in the financial capital will go ahead as scheduled, reports our special correspondent.

The summit is to be held in Delhi between September 4 and 5. The last leg of the summit on September 6 will be in Mumbai. South Block today made it clear it was not planning to change the venue.

Foreign ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said: “All preparations are in place and there is no change in that (the summit venue) ,” he said. “While security agencies are investigating the Mumbai blasts, normal life is fast returning.”
